I was wondering the dangers of draining 75% of a fiberglass pool.

the more i think about it the more i think draining would be the best thing to do. Since i am having a mustard algae problem would it be beneficial to just drain the whole thing and clean it out or let it dry out? or if i just dropped about 75% would it be best to attack it with having less...

ok well this is really depressing, according to the pool calculator if my CYA level is 200 and goal is 80 then i need to replace 60% of my water, how did this happen?

according to the test kit, since i diluted half of the cya test with tap water it's saying my CYA level is more like 200

just did the CYA test again with 50/50 dilution and it tested right at about 100

ok well i just filled the cl cylinder to 5ml and it took me 4 scoops to get it to stay pink and i'm up to 80 drops and it's still not budging

ok well my question at this point is if my chlorine level is so high why do i have algae still and when i was dumping the chlorine granules in the pool it would turn grey like it was dying?

ok so yeah my CYA level is well above 100, i can no longer see it well before i get to 100

so i know my CYA level once i can no longer see the black dot?

i've been adding buckets of granulated chlorine because my pool store was telling me to because i can't get a FC reading and have algae

i just noticed the post about my SWG running a lot, yes it has pretty much been running non stop because i'm fighting algae and was told it was best to leave the water constantly circulating until problem is resolved.

well i wouldn't say that the result of the first being brown and then turning to red chunks applies to me. It immediately goes in orange and stays orange and never dissolves..it basically looks like you putting vegetable oil in a glass of water, it just sortof moves around when i shake it but...

well i expected to have a 0 for FC because i'm pretty sure i have yellow algae and i can't seem to maintain FC but i didn't expect to get an odd result

well when i was taking it to the pool store to get it tested the person there said the chlorine would show a color for a second and then it would disappear real fast and i dont know if that means that it was almost a one or what that means, i mean he said he had never seen it do that before
