I wanted to add the borates as a ‘conditioner’. The acid is to bring down what borax will be raising it too.

I understand a low CSI has little effect on a vinyl pool but how about my SWCG? At this point I am working on getting all things to the stage I need in order to increase my borates. That low CSI troubles me to no end. If it doesn’t matter much even to the SWCG then I may stop monitoring it.

I recently did the MA and Borax addition. I am curious about the reason to run the pump 24-48 hrs. Are they a bit hard to mix on some level? I am running the pump that way, and followed TFP guide for ranges before adding the two and it is going great. Oops! Just realized I may have added too...

Trying to get my salt in range to turn on SWCG for first time. Salinity is at 2600 after multiple smaller additions the last being 16 hours ago. The salt is Clorox pool salt which mixes easily. How strict is the 24 hr time frame for additions?

And yes the pump basket did get some. I believe some may have gotten jammed up in the line (I’ve done it 2 or 3 times now). Each time I started the pump back up I got even more in the basket. I would shut it off and re-empty it and start it back up and it pulled quite a bit more which I emptied...

Well- even with the question about the drains- I have passed all three criteria for finished with SLAM. I do have a bit of sand but it's gritty and doesn't 'puff' and I did have the children over who even with feet rinsing they bring sand in.
