Pump leak at the base of the outflow connection

I replaced the pump strainer housing and the four gaskets this morning. It took me longer than 20 minutes, but the leak is fixed. Thank you to everyone who took time to respond.

Crack in DE filter housing wall

Thank you to everyone who offered advice and provided input. I went with the Hayward W3C5030 and had a pool company install it yesterday because I wasn’t willing to do the plumbing.

Crack in DE filter housing wall

I was thinking a Hayward W3C5030. It should be nearly identical to my current DE filter and will hopefully be an easy install.

Crack in DE filter housing wall

Thank you for the reply. I will get the 525. Is it recommended to have a professional install the new filter or is it okay to do it myself? The last time I purchased a pump, I was told by Hayward that the warranty would be void if I installed it and not a professional. Would it be the same with...

Crack in DE filter housing wall

Thank you all for the information. I will buy a cartridge filter as suggested. When it comes to 425 sq ft versus 525 sq ft, is the only difference the amount of debris they hold? Which one might be better for my setup?

Crack in DE filter housing wall

I noticed yesterday that my ProGrid DE6020 filter has a crack in the wall of the upper filter body. The filter was there when my wife and I bought the house 9+ years ago. Should I consider buying a whole new filter based on the age of this one or just replace the upper body of the filter? I...

Pump leak at the base of the outflow connection

That's what it looks like to me. I loosened the fitting to inspect the gasket and threads and they don't appear to have any issues. How difficult is it to replace the front half of the pump, referred to as the "pump strainer housing" in the manual?

Pump leak at the base of the outflow connection

I've referred to this forum a few times over the last 9 years for help with my pool issues and this is the first time I was not able to find a prior thread with the same issue. I noticed this weekend that my Tristar VS 950 has a leak at the base of the outflow connection, but below the threads...
