Thanks - I appreciate it. It stands to reason they would be okay - they are sold as a hose weight for use in pools after all - but I was just curious as to what they were actually made out of. I'll check out the plastic rings as well - thanks for the tip.

Hi folks, Just want to say a massive thank to you to TFP and all the forums - it's a huge collection of quality articles and advice and a friendly community. I made the step to look after my own pool and let the pool guy go - a month in and the water has never looked better. cheers Martin
