I let the water temp of the sample hit 69 °F before testing. Today's numbers are FC: 7, CC: 0, pH: 7.5, TA: 100, CYA: 60, CH: 350, CSI: 0.11 calculated. That is the same as yesterday save for FC because I added chlorine. I like that the results are consistent. My pH rises slowly. I wait...

Water level is "full'. I haven't had to add any since semi closing the pool, i.e. turning off the heater and turning down the pump speed. I measure a minimum of chlorine and pH once a week to keep levels correct as it is always possible the hot tub will be used. Oh... the pool is covered...

Thank you all. I missed the 10 mL vs 25 mL sample size difference. Given that my CH is is within the desired range for my pool I think I'll switch to the 10 mL sample and accept the lower resolution.

From the chart posted above I see the TF-100 Calcium Hardness test uses 10 drops of R-0010 and 3 of R-0011L before adding R-0012 drop wise. I've the Taylor K-2006 test kit which instructs me to use 20 drops of R-0010 and 5 drops of R-0011L before adding R-0012. Since the same reagents are used...

I'm still thinking about it. Yeah, Polaris parts are expensive. I've tried a few after market parts in the past and found they did not last at all. So I pay for the real thing.

Thanks for your reply. It is the scrubbers that that initially got my attention. That and no need for a backoff device.

I thought about that, too. The main down side in many years of use has been the "tail" getting stuck between cover and wall near the hot tub overflow and flooding the top of the cover until the backoff valve kicks in. And having to replace backoff valves every so often. Still, getting another...

My old Polaris 280 is making funny noises and needs new tires and and other maintenance items. And after 15 or 18 years the plastic doesn't look that great, either. Since I'm already using a pressure side device I'm wondering about getting a Quatro to replace the 280. Quattro search results...
