    Index Sand Filter Problem

When my intex sand filter is running it gets all the air out of the system, but when I turn it off, a bunch of air comes from somewhere and fills up half of the area with the clear lid and leaf basket. What could be causing this? The intake and output are both underwater and there are no leaks...

Help Please with Intex sand filter - Air in the system

You mean to unscrew the top part above the leave basket until the water starts to leak out and then close it again? Is that right?

Help Please with Intex sand filter - Air in the system

Hi. I have a 15 Ft round intex pool with the Intex sand filter and salt water system. My problem is that I can't get the air out of the system. When the filter runs there is always some air in the leaf basket area of the pump and then a lot of times when the pump turns off a whole lot of air...

Hi, My kids have very sensitive skin so we can only use sunscreen with physical blockers, such as Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. The problem is that I think the sunscreen is making the pool a little cloudy. Is there anything I can do about this? We have a Intex sand filter 2100 gal per...

    Lowering pH question

I have a intex SWG and when I was looking over the recommended chemicals it said that muriatic acid is better for SWG than dry acid...why? Does this mean I can't use dry acid? My pH is 7.8. Should I lower it a little or just wait for it to creep up a little more and then lower it? Thanks!!!

Could someone explain this to me -Chlorine levels...

It seems like everywhere I read the recommended chlorine level is between 1 - 3 ppm and doing the BBB method the recommended level is 3-5 ppm with swg. Why is that? In my Intex SWG manual it says the ideal level for free Chlorine is 0.4 - 1.5 ppm ... that is way lower than the BBB...

    Intex SWG copper question

I've read that people disconnect the copper generator on the Intex SWG...how and why? I've read that copper can turn hair green. My daughter has white (very blonde) hair and I'm worried that her hair will turn green. Is the copper necessary-what does it do? Thanks in advance for your reply!!

Has this happened to anyone else with Intex pool...

I may not have had them clamped all the way  . I tightened them, but I may not have screwed it all the way down. I'm new to all this stuff. I should probably have my husband try and tighten them even more when he gets home (he's a lot stronger then I am).

Has this happened to anyone else with Intex pool...

I have a 15x48 metal frame pool and we upgraded the pump to the intex 2011 sand filter. Today when I was running the filter the return hose came off of the return hole (I'm using the adapters)    . Thank God I looked out of the window and noticed that the pool...

Electrical going to pool area question with pic

Thank you all for the replies!! Tomorrow I'll go down to the town hall and hopefully they will be able to give me some specific information on what we need to do. I really want to do this right and my number one priority is to have a safe and clean pool that my family and friends can enjoy.

Just to clarify, they said any pool over 24 inches deep requires a permit. Thanks so much for your replies!
