    CPSC24 low chlorine output

I don't want to leave this thread hanging so wanted to post what the outcome was. While the SWG had a low output I've been maintaining my pool by manually adding chlorine. I called the U.S.A. number for CompuPool. The tech was actually pretty helpful and friendly. When I explained the problem...

    CPSC24 low chlorine output

Thanks guys, I've been on a business trip in Europe and just got back. My water temp is 70 degrees so I sort of ruled that out. But JasonLion got me to thinking. I was able to check the control box on the SWG and for some reason it is showing the pool temp to be 159 Degrees!!! So it must think...

    CPSC24 low chlorine output

I have a CPSC24 that has worked great for 2 seasons. This season it did well for the first 2 weeks, but now has a very low chlorine output. I can increase or decrease the desired chlorine output (10-100%), but it seems this has no effect. Regardless of what level I select, the chlorine output...

Quick question on clearing up pool

Just wanted to say thanks to Poolschoolgrad. I bumped up the chlorine and and started using some DE in the sand filter. After a few more days the water is clear again. TA is still high and will keep working to bring it down. Sun is hot, water is clear, life is good. Thanks all.

Quick question on clearing up pool

Guys, I had an algae bloom a few weeks ago that I couldn't battle. I knew at the beginning of the season my CYA was high, but thought I could get through the summer. I use 3" trichlor tablets and CYA rose a bit higher. So did a huge water change, followed the shock instructions here and now have...

    Thank you TFP!

This site has been such a help to me over the last couple of years. I can't thank you guys enough. I went to open my pool 2 weeks ago for the season. Water was sort of clear when I took the cover off. I had to add some water of course. I've got well water but been dealing with that for years...

Pool Success story - Thanks to TFP

I see so many "green pool" posts, I thought it might help to post a success story. And that story would be mine. For lessons learned scroll to the bottom. Mid summer last year my pool turned green. And nothing seemed to help. I was making trips to the pool store and pouring algicides into the...

    Low TA and green water

OK.... so if it is metals green, what is the suggested way to clear things up?

    Low TA and green water

I've read where low TA values can react with the iron in your water and tint it green. Not due to algae problems, but the low TA chemistry reacting with the iron. Has anyone have any experience with this?

I've used the tablet chlorinator for years. I know that it slowly raises the CYA but I keep this monitored. And I do a pretty good water change when lowering the water for the winter. I have used the liquid chlorine to do the initial shock. The FC level has stabilized at 22ppm and I'm not...

Now on day 3. FC stays consistently above 20 ppm. I don't have to add any liquid chlorine as the tablet chlorinator is injecting enough to keep up with the deman. Combined chlorine is consistentlt 1 ppm or less. I'll give it a couple more days and see what happens. Water color still remains...

Re: How long does FC leves need to be at shock level Sorry, Will repost the original problem. Had a problem earlier in the summer with green water. I kept the chemicals correct, kept the sides and bottom clean, but had a green color to the water. After several attempts and suggestions from the...

How long does FC leves need to be at shock level Merged threads to maintain history. Butterfly I've started the chlorine treatment as outlined on this forum. FC level is up to 18 ppm shock level and holding. Has been that way overnight (past 24 hours). That is the recommeded shock...

I've started the chlorine treatment as outlined on this forum. FC level is up to18 ppm and holding. Has been that way overnight. That is the recommeded shock value, but do I need to go higher? Is there a level that is "too much". I'm sure I don't have mustard algae as I don't have any slime on...
