Weird - I checked again last night and it seems as seated down on that bracket as it'll go - I'll take it off again tonight and see what's going on. thx for checking everyone!

The bracket is screwed tight to wood post - the controller is hanging from that. I'll have to look at it more closely when I get home, but it can slide side-to-side.

I have that setup, with a 24 x 48 equipment pad from Diversitech.

The plumbing isn't terribly difficult - depending on your setup - but it you're just replacing what already exists, most of the plumbing measurements can be copied. Just need to be aware of the orientation of your new filter and multiport if you're using one. I would practice on some scrap so...

Glad you got it sorted! So the o-ring was OK, just gave it some extra lube?

Also, be sure to slowly tighten those screws, alternately, a little at a time, like you would lugnuts on a car, until they are all fully tightened. They shouldn't be cranked down with a drill or driver, hand tools only.

I just recently installed a new VS pump and have been trying out different speeds - currently using 1700 for 10hrs and my single skimmer is working as well as it did with my old single speed 3/4hp pump. No issues with running the heater at that RPM either. May try to bump it down a bit more and...

Maybe it was injured, sick, dropped off by a neighborhood cat? I've had frogs, toads, skunks, chipmunks in my skimmer before....but not a bird!

This is exactly what happened to me last summer. Swapping out the guts is pretty simple too.

Thanks for the info regarding the unions. I don't backwash a lot, I would normally tear down the filter and recharge when needed. But I do use recirculate if I'm dealing w algae or adjusting pH, etc. thx!
