Re: Heavy rain + lots of dirt and mud = Brown Pool! Please h I'm no expert.... we went away last week and had a monster rain storm which washed tons of muddy dirt into our pool. It literally looked like river water  . We did the brush, vacuum, backwash thing for 5 days with almost no...

    Brown pool :(

We have an Aquabot vaccum. Is that going to be good enough or do I need to haul out the old hose and hook up the manual vac? This sure hasn't been a very fun pool season so far. :grrrr:

    Brown pool :(

We were away for 2 days. Water was a beautiful blue when we left. I even put the SWG on boost because we were expecting storms. Well, we came home to a brown pool that was filled to the very top. I backwashed for 3-4 minutes, rinsed and then wasted tons of water. My FC is 3, pH is 7.4, CYA is...

Water is still light green and it's June!

What sequesterant would be best for a SWG? The way I know we have metals in the water is by doing a vitamin C test on the discoloration on the walls. I feel lost... I have read and re-read the Pool School and still get confused. What do you do to increase the calcium? Sorry for the newbie...

Water is still light green and it's June!

Have had pool open about 3 weeks now. Frustrating trying to clear it up this year. It is an 18x44 in-ground fiberglass pool with a SWG. Just tested with a Taylor K-2006 kit and these are the numbers = FC= 13 PH= 7.3 TA= 75 CC=1 Calcium Hardness = 30 CYA= 68 Walls are also brown. We have well...
