Vinyl Pool- concrete or polymer and steel walls

Agree, no brainer. Permanent concrete structure for less money - can't wait to see it when it's done!! :)

Vinyl Pool- concrete or polymer and steel walls

We have a nearly 30 year old vinyl pool with polymer walls. We didn't build it - we bought the house with it about 3 years ago. Still solid, walls are a bit wavy, but otherwise still looks good and appears to have a lot of life left in it. I would prefer not to have the white thermoplastic...

    Liner Replacment

Almost $10K two years ago, which included a full vermiculite refinish. Would have been about $7K without the extensive work on the floor.

Well point and am I using it correctly during heavy rainfall for a Vinyl Pool

That is a cool setup, but I can't see how the pump stays primed in a sump pit that is dry most of the year. Even a check valve down in the pit would only help if the pump was run ONLY when the sump pit had water in it.

Well point and am I using it correctly during heavy rainfall for a Vinyl Pool

Never thought of having the well point intake connected to the main pump - clever idea, but I would think you would need to prime it. My well point has it's own pump which is self-priming. Since the sump area is bone dry for most of the year, I don't see how it would stay primed by itself...

Considering removing the FG pool and going with gunite (Austin area)

You can send that "piece of junk" to my backyard any day. Not minimizing your concerns, but thinking maybe you can tactically fix enough issues that you can go back to enjoying a stunning pool and backyard. :)

    LINER REPLACEMENT Vinyl

Turaj - I offered to pay a deposit - I agree, I would not have taken that chance either. He was a great guy and did great work, but he sure put a lot of faith in the customer...

Vinyl Liner Fade in one spot

+1 on the cleaner. My robot gets stuck under the ladder and has worn a spot in the (2 year old) liner pattern that is very similar to yours, but in a more contained location.

    Water loss

The leak I had in 2021 was from the area where the liner met the stairs - they could not find it with the dye test, but it was audible when they used the leak detection microphone. See if that is something they can try.

    LINER REPLACEMENT Vinyl

I used a guy who is a solo operator and all he does is liner replacements. I set up the install in October 2021 for install in April of 2022. He did not require a deposit and he stored the liner - I would not have liked paying half up front, but I would have done it given his reputation. If...

    Liner replacement cost check

I would do that before they change their mind. I spent $7K for a smaller pool in NC two years ago. Congrats on the soon to be new liner!! ;)

Wrong Liner Ordered…how bad is it?

My first replacement liner was ordered and installed incorrectly - and it was way off the sides just like yours. The deep end where that happened ended up stretching a lot and looking good when they were done installing it. I too would worry about the stairs - that seems like a lot of...

    Quote review

Maybe upgrade to 27 mil liner? Bit more durability for active kids, etc. (Maybe a bit more install complexity - so, the sunny day install becomes a bit more important...)
