    Natural Gas Brand + Warranty.

Update: We had the gas lines installed awhile ago while doing other work and had a drop installed for the heater. I ended up buying a Sta-Rite 200K. The Pentair/Sta-Rite phone rep was very helpful and answered my many questions and provided written docs to confirm along with additional...

    Natural Gas Brand + Warranty.

Yes, Sta-Rite is a Pentair brand. Also, Chief: Interesting comment. Per the calculations we've seen, 150 would be enough but the smallest Pentair Sta-Rite is 200BTU -- bigger enough in your opinion? We're in FL and wish to extend the seasons -- for example we are now at 70 degrees and would...

    Natural Gas Brand + Warranty.

Since my neighbor has a Sta-Rite Max-E Therm and nearly identical pool, I've done a little research. They have a 2-yr warranty if installed by a qualified professional such as the plumber we'd use. I will also look into Raypak... Thanks.

    Natural Gas Brand + Warranty.

First, thanks for all the previous help; now my beautiful little pool needs a heater. We have natural gas and 150BTU seems the right size. Hayward, Jandy, Pentair, Raypak -- how to choose? Should we go through the 'authorized distributor' or void the warranty by using a licensed gas installer...

Back for more help -- pool heater and remote access

Good Morning: About a year ago, we successfully refinished our pool with help from Trouble Free Pool. We had mosiacs made from Light Stream Glass and used the baking soda technique for re-fill. This year, the pool looks great and is still under the care of the same service person. No...

trouble with A&A infloor cleaning system

I agree with proavia regarding A&A. I spoke with them and another mfg (can't remember the name) and they were very helpful. Since I was second owner, the pop-ups weren't covered by warranty and the control mechanism had a problem so I removed the system.

trouble with A&A infloor cleaning system

You may not like my story, but here it is. Our pool was built ~1998 and had an in-floor pop-up system. When we decided to resurface everyone told me to take out the pop-ups but I wanted to research before deciding. Our system was not working properly and many of the pop-ups were missing but I...

New Plaster Start Up Bi-Carb - Last Leg

I'm in week 2.5 and thought it time for a quick update. The pH is running 8.0 - 8.2 and I calculate MA required in PoolMath with the goal set at 7.8; ~10 oz daily. Still brushing 2x a day, CH steady and TA slowly coming down. The water is crystal clear and I (who never tended a pool before this...

    Cutting the Cord + AquaBright

Since we have two houses we also have two cable bills -- we all hate one cable bill let alone two -- so I'm trying to cut the TV cord. As a result, we're trying different streaming services and TV shows to see what works for us. Last night while watching HGTV via Sling via Roku, they were...

    Weir board replacement

I had the same situation and had the same problem! There is a replacement weir made that is spring loaded but, like you, I bought the manufacturer's version. I solved by detaching the new weir from the bottom piece (which gets mounted to the pool) and my husband took the original/existing...

New Plaster Start Up Bi-Carb - Last Leg

I've been counting the last drop in all cases so I've been recording higher than actual numbers (instruction in kit doesn't state this detail); TA is 270. I'm seeing little change day to day and adding small amounts of MA. Is the TA a problem? Today: pH 8.2, TA 270, CH 175 (not counting last...

    Pool Deck Needs a Facelift

You're right about the paint -- don't do it! Mine was painted by previous owner and I painted a new color. Needs annual re-paint and looks awful most of the time. I also had cracking problems and covered with thin pavers to fix.
