Is a gasket needed at the face of the gunnite sleeve between it and poly jet sleeve? Basically does the gunnite to poly jet sleeve need to be airtight at the face or is it normal for air to leak around at the face and bubble up vs. all of the air being directed out of the jet nozzle?

I found the issue. When the renovation guy changed the Jets, he also changed out the fittings that go back into the Gunite wall. The fittings he put back into the wall were too short and therefore the spa pump water was being diverted into the air jet orifices.

Here is a picture of the strainer and my setup. After looking at the system, agree there should be nothing getting to this past the cartridge filter. I looked at the filters and while they are not new, they look ok. What else do I look at to figure out how this stuff is getting by the filters?
