    <2yr old IC40 seems broken

Okay - it's been a while but... I sent an email to Pentair hoping they would be able to help, and lo and behold, they made arrangements to have the cell replaced! They guy came this morning and put in a new/replacement cell, and the pool is back in operation! Pool guy asked who cleaned the...

    <2yr old IC40 seems broken

I struggled to find the warranty information but eventually was able to locate it. Says two years. Man that would be fantastic!

    <2yr old IC40 seems broken

Unfortunately, the replacement switch did not resolve the issue. :( Cell produces chlorine for a short amount of time after startup, cycling on and off, and then it goes into blink mode. On the plus side, replacing the water temperature probe did resolve that issue. Water temp shows 69 degrees...

    <2yr old IC40 seems broken

Hi Deb - I very much appreciate the offer. I will keep it in mind. I'm hoping the new flow switch fixes things.

    <2yr old IC40 seems broken

I do not have a heater (other than living in Arizona). ;) So, the IC40 has its own sensor, and the Easytouch has two sensors, one for water, one for air, yes? Then the temp. sensor on the flow switch is used internally by the IC40 and is not reported to the EasyTouch? Is that correct? And the...

    <2yr old IC40 seems broken

Thank you. I have just ordered a replacement flow switch. So, what is the temperature sensor between the pump and filter? Air temp?

    <2yr old IC40 seems broken

Was getting the pool ready for swimming and all seemed okay, but yesterday I noticed no bubbles coming from the jets, and the Cell LED was flashing green indicating "Check Cell". I have not checked the chemistry yet, but the water was okay last time I did check (a month ago?) My IC40 was bought...

    Replace IC40 with IC40 or...?

Hi. I put in what I thought would be ballpark, knowing the chlorine level would quickly drop. And it did, as expected, giving me a starting overnight CLT. Today, I am monitoring and adding chlorine as needed to maintain 24ppm. After adding 2 gals this morning, I tested moments ago - 23ppm. The...

    Replace IC40 with IC40 or...?

Just a status update. I added 8 gallons of 10% liquid chlorine to my running pool around 8AM with the pumps running full tilt. I waited a couple of hours and checked the chlorine level - 32ppm, overshot. By around 6PM, chlorine level had dropped to 24ppm. Water was murky but less green. By...

    Replace IC40 with IC40 or...?

No - it has a drain valve I attach a hose to. Water was too murky to see anything, so I scratched the idea. We had rain predicted for yesterday (didn't happen) and more for today. On the plus side, I now have 24 gallons of liquid chlorine ready to get started.

    Exactly my thinking!

    Replace IC40 with IC40 or...?

Well, since the water level is high (covering the skimmer intake), and there is algae coating the bottom, I thought about using a vacuum brush to vacuum out at least some of the surface algae. Might be useless, but it will make me feel better. ;)

    Replace IC40 with IC40 or...?

And the calcium and/or hardness? Is that any concern at this point? Thanks!

Okay, here are the results: Daily tests - Chlorine - 0 pH - 7.2 Weekly tests R-0870 no or extremely light pink R-0871 maybe 2 drops so 1ppm R-0003 5 drops made it pink R-0871 2 drops made it clear so 1ppm Calcium test 625ppm Total alkalinity test = 130 CYA - 60
