Repair & question on Aqua Rite

Just finished cleaning my Aqua Rite SWG T-15 cell until acid wash ran clear. Now my readings are (while generating): Cell voltage = 25.1 Cell current = 2.45 Suggestions? Thanks in advance, Ken

Hayward Aquarite Turning On and Off

I found lots of dialog on DIY replacing the current limiter on Aqua Rite. Simple solder job & $8 part. Might do the trick. See my post today with an upgrade alternative: solder once, then future plug & play current limiter installation. Picture included.

Repair & question on Aqua Rite

The cell has been inspected many times but never cleaned. In process of doing that now. Will echo new electrical readings once they are available.

Repair & question on Aqua Rite

3 years old. The Current Limiter is brand new. Is there a 'break-in period', after which current might come up to specs? Thanks

Repair & question on Aqua Rite

[attachment=0:2i4ukrvv]SWG curr lim.pdf[/attachment:2i4ukrvv]REPAIR: Just replaced current limiter (CL) on my Aqua Rite SWG. Followed this forum on how to, and added an option. Rather than engineer a cooling method for my SWG box (it's in the sun in Houston, so it IS going to get hot, I went...

Which polaris is this model? AND how long do they last?

Think about the cost of running your pool--electricity may be your highest component. If that's so, then the 360 wins, as it does not require its own motor. However, if your pool is setup up to run a 380 (likely so, right?), then you're already into a second motor. To revert to a 360 may...

    Fixed the Polaris!

I have a 16-yr old Polaris 360, which I've put a rebuild kit on twice. Took it to the same shop as you, they told me it was too far gone to refurb, I'd have to buy a new one. Took it home in pieces, ordered another rebuild kit and it's been running perfect for two years since then! Watch your...

Test values are whacked -- advice?

SWG installed but not ON, as I'm not sure the chemistry is safe for it yet. I think my salt level = 0, as I haven't added any in months. Values: Salt - not measured pH - 6.8 FC - 26 CC - 0 CYA - 600 TA - 70 CH - 20 Can these levels really be true? I added bleach + acid yesterday to get the...

Salt, heat, bad chemistry -- yikes!

Got the real deal test kit, here are the results: FC=1, CC=0, pH=8.2, TA=140, CH=370, CYA=90. I still have the pesky yellow on the walls and green in the grout, water clarity is excellent. Calculator says add bleach to up the FC, add acid to lower the pH, drop pH to 7.2 and aerate to lower TA...

Salt, heat, bad chemistry -- yikes!

Ordered TFT test kit. Until it arrives, I am monitoring salt level and using OBO test kit + PoolCalculator to manage FC & pH. Salt = 3,600 FC = 4 early morning, goes to 0 by end of day (high heat, full sun) OFCL = < 1 ph = 7.6 Clarity = excellent Still some persistent yellow on walls & green in...

Done. Now I'll go study those two algae links. Thanks mucho.

Salt, heat, bad chemistry -- yikes!

Pool is 16 years old. Was replastered and converted from traditional chlorine to SWG last summer--worked great for a year. With record heat this summer, water temp is 95deg. Several days ago we had a big rainstorm, and the pool started greening up. Took water sample to pool store, added...
