I am trying to change the target level of my fc to see how much Chlorine to add. It is automatically populated with a 3, and can not be deleted. If I want to put in 7, it shows up as 37.

I have the magnet version. I’ll take some pics for you. I can tell you my robot goes over it without knocking it off. It sticks to the wall pretty tightly.

Yes. I added borax to bring up my ph by .1. Must have been enough with the borates to raise the TA. Should have left it alone.

PH seems to be holding well at 7.6-7, Although my TA went up to 80. Not thrilled about that. Was it the borax that raised my TA? I’m going to leave it for now because it’s still in the safe zone. But it’s been a solid 70 all last season and this.

I have some old sodium carbonate ph increaser that I’ve never used. Is that the same as soda ash? Also, I will test my actual borate level in a bit to make sure it’s actually at the 40 level. Then do the ph thing. Does the borax require me to adjust another chemical?

I didn’t want to lower my pH. I wanted to get it up to about 7.8 or nine but it stopped about 7.7-8. So I added the amount that I did because it was supposed to drop it by .2. I may have f’ed up. I should have waited. Now I need to raise it.

My ph didn’t go up as far as I wanted. But I was sick of waiting. Added 30 lbs of boric acid just now. Should put my borates at about 40, and only lower the ph by .2. So that sounds good to me. I will report back after I test the water in a couple hours.

I will admit that I do not understand CSI. mine is within the recommended level via pool math. -0.05. I will read up on it.

My ph tends to drift up. Especially when I use my water feature. And I like the sound of the other benefits.
