Yes... LPS USELESS. Glad I found this site only 2 weeks after pool was built.

I ran out of my R-0871 from my Taylor K-2006 and went to LPS and they did not have any but had R-0002 in the 2oz size and said it was the same. So, any thoughts. Is it the same?

Thanks. I saw that in the Pool School but did not know how low FC had to be. If my FC/CYA ratio calls for FC to be between 7-12 due to high CYA level (90) should I keep FC below 10 so pH will be accurate? I do plan to drain in a few months to get CYA down. .

I am on the downhill side of my first SLAM. At what point do I start adjusting the pH. Will high FC levels give a false pH reading?

Ok. I have 2 more questions. 1. With FC in mid 30's during SLAM, is any danger of damaging plaster? 2. After SLAM is complete how do I get the FC lower to normal levels?

Nevermind last question on pH. I read in pool school do adjust pH before you start since the ph test will be not accurate during SLAM.

Ok thanks. While the SLAM is taking place do I need to adjust pH to proper levels?

I have only added liquid bleach. I do have landscaping behind my weeping wall, but I did not notice any debris. Also, I have deck drains around the pool so no water drains into the pool.

Ok, need some advise. It rained over 5 inches over the weekend at my house. Tested yesterday with my K-2006 kit and got high CC so I started to SLAM. This morning my FC was 28.5 and CC was 15. Is it possible to have that much CC. Water looks clear and no algae to the naked eye. I added more...

Here is a little more info. Pool builder came yesterday to remove a stain off of tanning shelf. He used a bucket of Jacks Magic and 2 gallons of acid and it wrecked my levels. Currently at: FC 1 CC 0 TA 30 CA 90 pH 6.8 CH 280

I need to adjust FC, PH, and TA. What order should I do these in?
