Yes I turn the pump off before moving the the value to close, back wash, rinse and filter. Yes there is a sight glass and that must of been my issue. I let it stay on rinse for a few mins longer then I normally do and made sure it was really clear not almost and now it didn't blow debris back...

ok so it's been 5 days since I've posted any updates..... I've been keeping the SLAM level right around the 20 range give or take a few numbers up or down and the pool is looking great!!! We've had rain storms roll through almost every night but not much debris has been blown into it, lucky...
