Does it make a difference if it's a blue vs clear cover? I have a blue cover.

Copy that. It is a blue substance. Product by in the swim. Worked wonders with blue as can blue water clarity. I guess I'll use it sparingly if at all. Just amazed that it did wonders to my water.

Pool clarifier? Good bad or simply not necessary. I poured a bottle in for the first time and it added a shimmer and clearness of crystal. Thoughts?

Copy that. I brush once a week. I did get a kit but now it's old. Still got algae only when covering so I'm guessing increased temperature increased chemical bleach demand which I did not account for.

Solar cover = increase in algae? Anyone notice this after covering the pool there is a dramatic increase in algae. Looks brown on the walls. Cover for about two or three days at a time.

FYI while waiting for my test kit, I decided to blast it with bleach. Looks like it was algae. Cleared up in two days. No vacuum required. John

The pool dude installed a VS Pentair bout a month ago and set it for turning on at 10 am to 7 pm to coincide with the use of solar panels and the SolarTouch controller - also set at 2600 rpms. Now if I understand it correct, the pump is suppose to be used as a variable speed. How does the pump...

I need to purchase a test kit for CYA. I've just been dumping about a gallon of bleach in every other day. My test kit is yellow which apparently is an "ideal" level. I know there's that Chlorine and CYA relationship. Guess, I'll hit up amazon right now and purchase a better test kit. John

Hi Folks, I'm assuming this is yellow mustard algae...right? or dead algae parts or pollen? It's yellow. When I brush it off the sides and bottom of the pool it turns into a dark yellow dust and then diffuses into the water (making the water very slightly cloudy). Next day it's back coating...
