    CYA not yet dissolved

OK, thanks guys. I stirred the bed up with a brush, and I read but forgot about the sock method. Heh.

    CYA not yet dissolved

Container says it can take a week to fully dissolve. Just put it in last night. HOWEVER, my kid wants to swim tonight. If the other parameters are OK is it safe to swim with the CYA lying on the bottom of the pool? Once it gets stirred up is there any danger to swimmers? Thanks!

    Balancing Questions

Very helpful. Thank you very much. I was nervous about messing around with the TA too much but the Taylor guide said to get that under control first (it was about 70 right after filling). We are loving this pool so far, and since we were able to fill it two months earlier than last year it's...

    Balancing Questions

Filled the pool around the end of May (city water), starting the sand filter right away. After I got the salt level where I wanted I started the SWCG to run 11 hours each night (pump and filters start around 530 pm). Test numbers as of today (Taylor k-2006 kit): fc - zero cc - did not check (if...

Intex ultra frame - one bracket is not vertical

Today was the first day that I actually swam in my new pool. The water looks awesome and it's finally not too frigid. And then I noticed it this evening. One of the U-brackets that holds up the frame is noticeably out of vertical, maybe an inch out of its 52" height. It's at one of the corners...

New Install - does adding salt affect the ph?

Thanks. It seems weird that the test strip would not include a test for CYA. I'll look into the Taylor kit.

New Install - does adding salt affect the ph?

Actually I have a semi-related question to that: How reliable are the test strips that come with the Intex pump? The 4 way dip and read is returning FC around 3 (the only thing I've added is bleach) ph maybe between 7.2 -7.6 TA between 80-120 CH 250 I'm planning to add the salt tonight so I...

    Intex Saltwater System question

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning to make improvements to the whole setup each season (this is the first!), and I read in more than one place that the 1500gph pump is under powered. It will probably be the first thing I upgrade. I wasn't planning to take mine down. I've heard that leaks can...

    Intex Saltwater System question

My pool is almost filled but I have added no chemicals yet. Can I run the pump and sand filter and just leave the SWG off until I get salt into the water? The manual doesn't specify. Thanks everyone.

OK, site prep is pretty much done (pic); Do I need a gorilla mat?

Can I just use the included ground cover under the pool, or would the gorilla mat be worth the extra protection? Thanks!

How big of a concrete pad for Intex Ultra Frame AG?

I have an Intex Ultra Frame 12x24x52" pool. If I'm pouring a slab under it how big does it need to be? Thanks. Many more questions to follow. This started out on the cheap but I want to do it right.

Site Prep for Intex Ultra Frame AG

Doing the research on getting the ground ready to assemble a pool and Intex is giving different information depending on where you look. I have a site scraped of sod and will be having a pro level it. I'm a bit confused though on the support pads that go under the u-shaped brackets. The manual...

Intex Above Ground - On What?

Hi Everyone: This is my second post. In my first post, I learned that the sod where the pool will be located must be removed to avoid settling and a nasty smell. After doing about one third of it by hand I rented a sod cutter and dug the rest of the sod out. That was fun. I have an Intex Ultra...

    Site Leveling

Hello, I have arrived at this forum because my family has finally broken me down and gotten me to agree to get a pool. At first we were looking at a package at Costco, but it seemed to small to really be enjoyable, so we have decided to get an Intex 12x24x52" Ultra Frame (I think). Roughly 8500...
