Whether mold or something else it seem to be gone. Getting new record low chlorine use per day. May even be able to dose every other day now. Thanks guys for the advice. If this holds up like it is I will enjoy it more and work on it less.

I flushed once and got a little white on top of the water. Then filled it and brought chlorine to 50ppm, tons of white film floating on top. White mold from the showroom makes sense. Drained that and cleaned it all, refilled and I am now flushing it again with spa purge. Ahh some is ordered, but...

White water mold is the culprit. Got a hot tub service guy at my local spa store who tested it. It's supposed to die easily with chlorine but he said he has been seeing it more and more resistant.

Yeah it doesn't do it for several weeks sometimes, this time it took a week. I think it could be biofilm. I'm going to flush it a few times to be sure it's all gone and see
