    Hayward GVA-24 - Actuator Failing?

Removed the actuator. Valve turns freely. I closed it all the way and will see if it drains this evening to rule out a failed check valve. Then tomorrow I’ll toy with the actuator.

    Hayward GVA-24 - Actuator Failing?

Hey guys, woke up this morning to half my spa drained, lol. Anywho, went over and checked out my equipment and it looks like one of my actuated valves isn't all the way in the closed position. So, I swapped it from pool to spa mode for it to actuate and it closes all the way on the other end...

    Scale removal on Slide

I think the pumice stone would remove the finish that is on the slide. It is essentially just painted gunite.

    Scale removal on Slide

Hi all, I maintain my pool throughout the year because I use my hot tub frequently. I guess I let my pH get a little high and have gotten some scale spots on my gunite slide. Any tips on removing this? Assuming muriatic acid and a scrub brush would be too aggressive on the slide finish. Thanks!

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I've recently switched from "Pool Essential" brand liquid chlorine 10% to Home Depot's HDX liquid Chlorine 10%. They come in a pack of 3 for $9.99 and to me the Chlorine is a better quality than that of the Walmart brand. Could be total placebo effect but *shrug* One less reason to go to...

Umbrella Sleeve Cap - Seized close due to plaster

Yeah I know, right.... Luckily I have two other sleeves for volleyball so I used one of those caps to make sure I didn't damage the threads and I didnt, so yay! My biggest worry was for me to damage the overall sleeve and/or crack the plaster around it. Luckily that didn't happen.

Umbrella Sleeve Cap - Seized close due to plaster

*Update* I was able to get the cap off....this is what I had to do.... Used a screwdriver and hammer and essentially cut a square into the top of it. Then used a hacksaw blade and cut the cap into quarters and then just pried it out. Saved the threads on the sleeve so we are good to go.

    Outdoor TV help please

I've had my "standard" Samsung 55" outside for a full year now. Its under a covered patio and also bought one of these to put on it when not in use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PBA5B9Y/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So far so good.

    Outdoor Shower

I built mine from simple 3/4" PVC from Home Depot. Tapped off of the water line to my outdoor kitchen. It's cold water only, however since we are in Texas the first 30 seconds are always hot :) We use it mainly to rinse off before getting in (especially on workout days or after yard work)...

Umbrella Sleeve Cap - Seized close due to plaster

So, we went to use the umbrella sleeve for the first time on our sunshelf and I could not remove the cap. Tried using some pliers, a box cutter around the lip to cut-away some plaster that may have hardened in the threads with zero luck. Any suggestions for getting the cap off? Thanks in...
