    High ALK, low pH

Ugh...I hate muriatic acid, but if that is what works best, I'll use it. :( Are there different types or pool specific ones I should look for? What we used up last year was left-over from the previous home-owner. I know that a FC of 1.0 is too low, but I thought once the water was cleared you...

    High ALK, low pH

Hello, We are trying to get our pool open for the season and I am having issues with some of my chemistries. I started with a couple rounds of SLAM (1st w/ bleach, 2nd w/ trichlor) as my water was a bit green and murky. Now that it is clear (current FC 1.0-I am waiting on testing my CYA as I...

    HIGH TA

All criteria passed as of this morning at 5:30am...oh things we do for our pools! :) FYI, the TA is down to 230ppm with a pH of 8, so I will be doing a muriatic acid dump this evening to even things out. Gloves and rubber boots are ready to go! Thank you for your help through this!

    HIGH TA

After emptying about 80%, refilling, bad weather, our pump going out mid SLAM, a cracked water return and plenty of liquid bleach....here is where we are! Going to do the OCLT tonight and hopefully it will be all good!

    HIGH TA

Drained down to about 6 inches of old winter water in pool (nasty green, smelly stuff), refilled with garden hose and zero chemicals added. Water is now "clear" but cloudy. Current test results using the Taylor K-2006 kit: TA - 320 ppm pH - 7.4 CH - 250 ppm CYA - <30 ppm FC & CC - nothing added...

    Overwhelmed and needing some help.....

Thanks, Marty & Bperry! Our K2006C will be here on Wednesday and I calculated that we will need 0.75 gal of bleach to hit the 5 ppm mark that Marty suggested (0.25 gal bleach/10,000 gal to reach 2.5 ppm, so 0.75 gal/15,000 gal for 5 ppm) . We will add the first round this evening once the pool...
