I have an older Hayward Power-Flo that has to be bump started manually every time due to a bad starter coil. Can I add a start capacitor to this motor? To basically replace or bypass the starter cool? Thanks

So i have an older Hayward Power-Flo, the starter coil is bad. So to start it I remove the back cover, use a stick to bump a big metal peice on the shaft and wha-la. My question: can I add a start capacitor to the pump to "replace" that start coil? Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

I appreciate it. The problem is the basket is lower than the filter output. So nothing comes in from the pool, but 90% of the water in that big canister dumps. Its a head scratcher... maybe just a dumb design. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

Got ball valves on everything. The problem is when i pull the strainer lid off the pump, the filter empties along with some DE. Thats why I'm asking if the filter itself has a built in shut off. P.S. I like your fountain better than mine lol Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

So i hard plumed my Intex pool and upgraded to a Hayward 1hp pump and EC-40 DE filter. (It was free :D) and works great! However when i vacuum and need to clean the strainer basket, since the pump is below the water level, theres no way to keep the water (and DE) in the filter. Is there a trick...

So took it apart and cleaned all the contacts. Windings and shaft still turn smoothly. The metal flap is pushing and engaging the centrifugal switch when off, but nothing is separating those contacts when power is put to the pump. Aslo i tried pushing that flap down (separating the centrifugal...

Is that the plastic V at the bottom or the black circle piece at the top. Also should the spring loaded flap that the plastic V is up against be closed or open before start?
