I am going to be out of town for a week for Thanksgiving. I always seem to have an issue with my DE filter clogging causing the pressure to go up. Rather than turning off the pump can I add a lot of shock or pucks and keep it on Recirculate? Would that cause an issue?

If your FC is high enough will it kill the algae on the walls or does it need to be brushed off into the water for it to be killed?
