    How to lower PH

    It keeps telling me to add muriatic acid. I have added 2,5 gallons in the last 4 days and the PH reading is still over 8. Is this normal? 16000 gal inground plaster pool, sand filter.

    Thanks, guys. I added just less than the suggested amount of muriatic acid and it lowered the PH to 7.8. Since it is about to rain off and on through Saturday I am thinking I should just wait and run all the tests next week before doing anything else. This is much better than running to the pool...

    Thanks. The water is crystal clear. Looks great. i do have some rust looking spots on the bottom though.
