Bottom rails sliding out of upright connectors

Hi! Sorry for the long delay on updating this post. I couldn't get the rails to budge and the manual does not mention anything about how far apart the rails should sit in the bottom plates, so I just went with it. I left the uprights off for about a week to make sure, the rails hadn't moved at...

Bottom rails sliding out of upright connectors

Heyo, wasn't sure how to word this. I have a picture. Setting up our Sharkline Reprieve AGP. After getting the wall placed and building the cove, one of the upright bases looks like this. Others are too far in, passed the dimples, most are spot on - this is the worst offender. The walls are...

    Flocculant Not Settling

Derp, that's right, I'm using 10% sodium hypochlorite. Thanks. I guess I have nothing to lose by trying to filter the flocs out first. Going to try the vacuum tomorrow, possibly to waste, and lots of brushing. Topped up the old sand after a cleaning today, there was a hard layer of gunked up...

    Flocculant Not Settling

Hi, I'll start by stating that I've made a very big mistake and ignored some common wisdom on the forums here. Two weeks ago I began cleaning up my parents' backyard swamp (frog infested and so-green-it's-black above ground pool). I started a SLAM (with 10% sodium hypochlorite liquid), vacuumed...

    Three weeks in, still cloudy

Ahh, DE! That's one thing that I haven't done this season, thank you. I'll pick some up and check back in. I also suspect that I haven't been as vigilant as I should be on FC levels, though I've (probably wrongly) assumed if CC is < 1ppm, there's nothing to worry about. I'll keep the FC up and...

    Three weeks in, still cloudy

Hi! Began opening my pool at the beginning of this month - late, it was also uncovered all winter, I know, I got myself into this predicament. I tested the PH at 7.2 and began the SLAM process, and after a week and a half of dosing to 24ppm FC the pool changed from green to a milky blue. I...

    Shocking without knowing FC levels

    3* ton. That's a big typo, haha.

    Shocking without knowing FC levels

Thanks everyone! FC drifted to 10 ppm since my last post, and CC is now 0.5 ppm. The water is nearly 100% clear. Just have some gunk I have to get out of the bottom with the vacuum. I'm calling it a success! Here's a pic. I was a bit apprehensive about it but my options were pretty limited...

    Shocking without knowing FC levels

Hey, just an update, got my Taylor FAS-DPD test kit in... And here's my numbers: PH: 7.2 CH: 100 ppm TA: 120 ppm CYA: 30 ppm (is a 20 ppm drop in four days normal? I have backwashed the filter a few times since the first test) CC: 2 ppm FC: 14 ppm The chlorine/CYA chart shows I should have a...

    Shocking without knowing FC levels

Gotcha! I made sure to get a brand without CYA (hth brand, all I could source around here) and I've left the filter going 24/7. I'll be sure to remove them once my water is clear and I'm not leaving the filter on all the time. They are calcium hypochlorite, but with my low CH levels I assume...

    Shocking without knowing FC levels

Thanks for the input everyone. I have decided to be patient and wait until my kit shows up on Friday. I have left the chlorine pucks in the pump basket in the meantime, so hopefully the water won't get worse.

    Shocking without knowing FC levels

Thanks for the quick reply! Since I'm not able to check the FC at the moment, would it be best to stagger the addition of chlorine every few hours or so until clear as I've been doing? Or just add a bunch all at once and monitor the result?

    Shocking without knowing FC levels

Hi, new pool owner. To cut it short, I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into. The pool is a 24x52 Intex Metal Frame, round, 12k gallons. I also have the 2500gph sand filter (older model, got it second hand.) Took two weeks to get the land leveled! 4 attempts to fill the dang thing...
