Calcium scale build up from SWG makes me want to throw it away and use a different form of chlorine

When I click Recommended Levels it takes me back to Home Page and I am not finding Recommended Levels but did see the CYA/Ch chart. I am sensitive to chlorine as it makes my eyes itch and I get stuffy nose. I like to keep it low and we supplemented with an ozonator and UV light. Both have burned...

Calcium scale build up from SWG makes me want to throw it away and use a different form of chlorine

I stopped managing my pool as we leave sunny Florida for the summer. Who know what the service does when I am gone but they come once a week. I use the Pool Math App and aim for Chlorine about 3, Ph 7.6, ALK 100, Ca 300, CYA 40. Any suggestions?

Calcium scale build up from SWG makes me want to throw it away and use a different form of chlorine

I have blue surface and spillover tiles but are quite gray due to scale. I maintain my own pool and add muriatic acid about 3 times a week to lower pH to 7.4 - 7.6 and still have scale issues. Since I will be away for several months and will need to hire a pool service there will be no one here...

Setting RPM for Solar Heater use using variable speed pump

Added 10 solar panels 4'X12' to South roof. What level should I set RPMs when heating to accomplish 40 gallons per minute? Is there a formula for this?

    pH test with high FC

What is the highest pH you have seen in an otherwise chemically balanced pool with SWG? Is there a way to test for pH greater than 8? Thanks.

    Pool Plaster Dust

Thanks to all for being there. I did contact National Plaster Council and Rep came out. He thought high calcium came from the plaster but thought it was intact. My home and pool builder told me that they do not consider that organization to be "Experts" and referred me back to the local Leslie's...

    Pool Plaster Dust

Completed new home and pool in Cape Coral, FL 10/2013. The week we closed Sunset Pool Builder Rep came to hook up the Zodiac computer. While he was here I asked him to look at how much white dust was being brushed from the floor of the pool. Water would be clear in the morning and completely...

    High Chlorine levels after SLAMMING

11500 K inground plaster pool/spa with Nano SWG runs 8 hours a day SW FL. Last Thursday cleaned filter and thought it looked gray/black and since we did not plan to use pool for a few days added 4 gallons of 8.25% chlorine bleach. Prior to addition: Borates 50ppm, pH 7.6 so added 5 C muratic...

Calcium Scale Removal in SWG Plaster Pool with Spa and adding Borates

I have drained and refilled enough pool water to lower my CH from 600 to 330-390 depending on which pool store I choose to believe on a given day. My reading was 800 - now 490 using Leslie's Complete Poolcare DPD Test Kit. Calcium scale has markedly improved so at least I know CH is going down...

Calcium Scale Removal in SWG Plaster Pool with Spa and adding Borates

Our SWG was wired so that every time we used the spa and raised the temperature the system would "think" that the pool temp was higher and put out enough Chlorine directly into the spa and on us to chlorinate the whole pool. That has been fixed and SWG is turned off when we heat the spa. I...

Calcium Scale Removal in SWG Plaster Pool with Spa and adding Borates

Built our new home with 11K gallon plaster SWG Pool and Spa 2013 in Cape Coral, Florida. We did not move here until 2 months ago and had a moderate amount of brown calcium scale in spa and pool. Discovered that the landscaper had installed irrigation water sprinklers in the back garden which...
