I’ve had it for 3 seasons now, and still shooting sand into the pool, about a handful every week or so. I’ll look at the auto vacuum though, could be a good addition!

That would be a good idea if doing it from scratch, but not worth it now, until mine fail. Is that the cartridge pump or the sand? I’m second guessing getting the sand filter, all I do is vacuum sand out of the pool. Guess you get what you pay for...

Ah, I see. The problem wasn’t with the valve itself though, but rather my inexperienced job of using pipe sealant with PVC. It was the threads that were leaking.

I can confirm that all three of these seals I made in fact are leak free!

The good news, is that the handmade gaskets on the pool fittings worked perfectly, without any leaks!
