I do not have an air valve. It really seams like the pump is to powerful and the water flow can't keep up with it. I'm wondering about switching to a 1 1/2" vacuum hose rather than 1 1/4". Has any one else tried this?

I use a vacuum plate. I have had this problem before but I have also been able to make it work the right way. One thing I do though is leave the basket in. I'm not sure if that is right. I also backwash the filter often so it runs real good, between 6-10 psi. I've never checked the psi while...

I have an issue when I try to vacuum my pool. I drain all the air from the hose by placing the hose in front of the return port, no problem. I hook it up to the skimmer basket and get really good suction then my pump pulls so hard that when viewing through the glass top, the water drains down...

When following the recommended dosage of pool chemicals at the pool calculator, are the amounts stated per all the gallons in the pool or per 1000 gallons? Example: it says I need .3oz of baking soda by weight. My pool is 15,200 gallons. Does that mean .3 oz for the whole 15,300 gallons? or .3oz...
