Yeah, it was strange. It felt like an air leak somewhere in the system but I couldnt pinpoint it... FWIW its a sand filter, and the (separate pump) only stopped prime when set to filter or recirculate... /shrug... onto the next problem! thx again!

You say the CYA is 0-30. That is a pretty big range given the process you are going through. Having a good idea of there these are allow you to shock effectively. You want your ph to be 7.5 -7.8 so lower that to start. Get an accurate CYA to ensure you are dosing the correct amount of cl, then...

There's a lot of variance, but most the robots can run on a timer, and are self enclosed. Meaning they typically have a filter bag installed and collect the dirt and what-not, and then you pull the filter bag out, clean it off, and then re-insert.
