    Multiport valve - unused positions

just want to give an update to close this off - Hayward is sending a new MPV. They didn't ask any questions or ask for any evidence of the problem, so I'm guessing they've seen this problem before.

    Multiport valve - unused positions

hi, I'm sure MPV and filter are compatible; the MPV part number is listed in the filter owner's manual. But for completeness, pictures are attached. @Mdragger, thanks and yes, next step is to contact Hayward. I just wanted to make sure this leak was unexpected before calling them.

    Multiport valve - unused positions

Thanks for looking into this. Hopefully the pictures make the situation clear. Basically when MPV is set to recirculate, DE-filled water drains out of filter through waste port. It stops once water level in the filter falls below the waste port.

I'm going to lose my mind - plug stuck in skimmer pipe

    Multiport valve - unused positions

I have a brand new Hayward SP0715XR50 multiport valve, and I'm seeing something strange: When set to recirculate, water drips out the waste port. And when I open the air bleed on top of my (also brand new, Hayward W3DE6020) filter, water absolutely gushes out of the waste port, along with DE...

    Another dissolving CYA topic

I'm trying to use my Polaris 360 to dissolve CYA. I just poured some granules into the leaf bag and I'm hoping the flow through the bag will help dissolve it. Wanted ask if this is a bad idea for any reason.

discarding acid after cleaning salt cell

Just following manufacturer's recommendations. Should it not be done?

discarding acid after cleaning salt cell

I've got an RJ60+, and will be cleaning it soon. Once done, I'm planning to dump the acid from the cleaning back into the pool, since I'm always adding acid anyway. Is anyone aware if there's any reason not to do this? Maybe I'm being paranoid - as far as I know, it's only dissolving calcium...
