    Handling Muriatic Acid

Ok, Thanks. I was not sure if the Muriatic would disolve plastic (which would have been embarassing and dangerous). I keep my pool supplies in an outside shed that is very well venitlated so I guess the fumes wont be a problem. Thanks for the advice. Frank

    Handling Muriatic Acid

I usually use Dry Acid (which can be expensive) to lower the Ph in my pool because Muriatic Acid (which is easier to find) gives me the Hebe-Gebes. My biggest concern is how to measure the acid and then store the partial bottle. What type of measuring containers can be used with Muriatic acid...

    Do I need to shock

I am going to get the CYA level down, I just don't have a full day to mess with my pool right now. That is what it will take to drain and fill the pool. I don't want to leave my pool only half full and risk the sun damaging the exposed liner.

    Do I need to shock

I have already dumped about 1/3 of my water to get the CYA down to 140. I still need to do at least another 1/3 water change. I use bleach to add chlorine. I just started the BBB method about 2 week ago and I just got my test kit last week. The pool is looking better than it has in a long...

    Do I need to shock

We had rain this weekend and my pool is cloudy, blue but cloudy. Thursday I was in the pool which stirred up some sediment (I think dead algea) on the bottom of the pool. I also adjusted my return jet to point just under the water surface (previously it had been pointed further up and stired...

    Lowering Water Temperature

Duraleigh Thanks for the information. My pool came with a fountain attachement for the return jet but it came apart the first time I tried to install it. I will have to get some PVC cement, repair it, and give it a try. I currently run my filter only during the day, but I am going to start...

    Lowering Water Temperature

My AG pool is in full sun most of the day. During the hottest part of the summer the water temperature can get quite warm. When I jump in the pool I want to cool off. I have a hot tub for a relaxing hot soak. Any suggestions on lowering water temperature?

    When to run the filter

I did read the Pool School topic before I posted the question. The Pool School tells you how LONG to run the filter, but not WHEN (as in what time of day, if it matters). I've been told to run the pump at the hottest part of the day.

    When to run the filter

What time of day is best for running the filter? I am running my filter about 10 hours per day during the hottest time of day. On another topic. When you shock the pool, do you need to run the pump more to circulate the extra chlorine?
