My skimmer doesn’t send any water back to my filter and pumps. It only recirculates back into the pool. All the returns to the filter and pumps go through the main drain so not sure if that makes a difference.

In Katy TX (west Houston suburb) Patriot Cleaning Supply sells bulk bleach for $3.25/gallon + tax. You have to bring your own containers and it’s self service but much cheaper than any store I’ve found.

Update: Problem solved- i discovered the removable lid on the pump inlet filter basket was letting air in. It seemed like there was debris on the rubber seal and it wasn't sealing. Once i cleaned the filter basket, lid and seal and put the lid back on everything is running fine now.

Here's the setup. The VS pump that has issues is the one in the back further away from the filter.
