    IceShadow’s pool thread 2023

Pretty sure it is ... I believe there are 4 little holes on each side by the front. That's where the "ears" attach to the switch. This allows you to secure it to a rack.

    IceShadow’s pool thread 2023

Sorry, missed that wall mount. If you went with something similar to that but just a bit larger like 6U, you could then get your switch close to the patch panels and run short 6" patch cables. Something like this: Makes for a cleaner install but you know what, they all work the same. Good...

Now you need a rack for that patch panel. Put one 24 port switch above and one below. Run 6" slim patch cords and it will look great!

    IceShadow’s pool thread 2023

Nice to see everyone again. Snow just finally left my pool cover last week but like in your area, temps are climbing pretty quickly. Think I'll open within the next week too. Our pool is up to the rim as well. Hopefully it's clear! Good Luck opening everyone.

New Hot Tub Owner. Lot to Learn

I've had both a hot tub and a pool. Pool is much easier by far to look after than a hot tub. When things go wrong on a hut tub, they go wrong in a hurry. For the first 5 years of owning a hot tub, I ran it on Bromine with tabs in a dosing mechanism built into the filter housing. For 5 years...

    Auto Cover Maintenance for Winter

I don't use my autocover to handle the winter protection duties. I use a separate safety cover for this. I know it says you can use the autocover but I think practically speaking, that's a lot of stress to put on the cover. In terms of maintenance, I do most of my maintenance in the spring...

    Closing Concerns

First blow out you skimmer lines and get the water drained below your pool returns. Then when the skimmer line is blown out and winterized you direct that jandy valve so that it's solely on the main drain. Blow that main drain line out until you see air bubbling from the bottom of your pool...

First time closing and would appreciate some feedback

Hello fellow Canadian :) Seems like you have a pretty good handle on things. A couple comments: I don't typically blow out the skimmer line with gizmo in place. I blow out the line from the pad end, ensure that the skimmer line is free of all water. I then pour directly into the skimmer...

My pool guy quit because I won’t take out my pecan tree

I don't have a pecan tree but I do have a flowering pear tree that is a real mess to contend with in the spring and early summer. We have an autocover on our pool which helps keep out the majority of tree junk. I think you need to decide how much you value that tree and if you do decide to...

    SLAM Now...or Wait?

Well that's a positive sign and should make you feel better. Now, you can focus on that CYA on your own terms.

    SLAM Now...or Wait?

Normally I buy my LC in bulk from the local pool company. I still find they are the cheapest place to get it. I use 10L containers meant to hold the chlorine. I also have 20L containers but I find the 10L ones easier to lug around when time comes to refill. I have a small pump that I use to...

    SLAM Now...or Wait?

Your use of pucks is what's contributing to driving up the CYA numbers. If you want to work on getting this lowered, you are going to have to stop using these and move to LC for the time being. Handling of LC is a pain, no question. So long term, you can look at switching to a SWCG or get a...

    SLAM Now...or Wait?

With CYA of 160 it's going to take a lot more than draining an inch of water and some rain to bring it down much. With a CYA of 160, you'd have to drain and replace half the water in your pool to get to a CYA of 80 which is still on the high side for a pool that's not salt water. I understand...
