Is PH Something You're Supposed to Keep Adjusting or is the Goal to Get it to a Stable Level?

So is the idea to find a TA that makes PH stable at 8.0 or less? At what point do you decide to lower your TA? If your TA is at 60 but your PH keeps rising above 8.0, should you keep lowering TA or just deal with having to keep adding acid to lower PH?

Is PH Something You're Supposed to Keep Adjusting or is the Goal to Get it to a Stable Level?

I have a fiberglass pool, the first year I started managing it I got my TA down to about 70ish, and at that range the PH stayed perfectly at 7.4-7.6 all year round, I never had to add acid. The next year, I did the same thing, but my PH kept slowly creeping up to 8.2 (would take about a week to...

Looking for a Robot Cleaner with the Cheapest Cost per Year...

Seems like everyone on here is going with the Aiper! How many cleans do you get per charge? Is it just one clean and it runs until it dies?

Looking for a Robot Cleaner with the Cheapest Cost per Year...

I have the Polaris Alpha IQ+ currently. It worked amazing for about 2.5 years, then it just fell apart. First all the gears needed to be replaced (relatively cheap), shortly after that, the housing that seals all the motors and controls leaked and needed to be replaced (found one for $450)...

What is the proper way to install winter cover anchors on pavers with concrete base?

I'll take some pictures when I get home, but they had 2 extra anchors they left with me in case we needed to add an extra one, and they are definitely the tubes, as shown in the link I attached above. But that might be the case, they may have only installed the tubes at the 4 corners, or...

What is the proper way to install winter cover anchors on pavers with concrete base?

I have a paver patio around my pool using Unilock Beacon Hill smooth pavers. During construction, the pool company poured about 18" of concrete around the fiberglass shell. The hardscape company was not happy with this because of the issues of the pavers pulling up since they knew the anchors...

    Dealing with "Soft Calcium" accumulation

I have my fill water coming from my water softener. Without the softener it's about 450, my softener isn't great, it's about 200.

    Dealing with "Soft Calcium" accumulation

Yes, sorry, misplaced the decimal! Those numbers were from TF-100, though ColorQ said CH was 233.

    Dealing with "Soft Calcium" accumulation

Long story short, I had issues with calcium buildup and scaling on the walls of my pool, I tried a "calcium treatment" kit, which from what I understand was Sulfamic acid. Following advice from TFP @JoyfulNoise, I exchanged the water to get the acid out of the water. The kit did work, but I'm...

    Cloudy/Foamy Water After Calcium Treatment

Just a quick update, I continued diluting/exchanging the water for another 48 hours. On Sunday I fired everything back up and thank God my CC's were 0 and FC was about 8 with my CYA at 40! I was able to get the pool balanced and had the family swimming for Memorial Day. Thanks everyone for all...

    Cloudy/Foamy Water After Calcium Treatment

I just sent them a message asking what acids were in there. I doubt they'll respond, but I'll let you know if they do. The pool actually looked pretty good this morning. Slightly cloudy still, but I can see the deep end. I assume the SLAMing has been working, even with a majority of the FC...

    Cloudy/Foamy Water After Calcium Treatment

I did, I don't have a test kit for TDS, but it was pretty obvious the old water was sinking to the bottom of the deep end. The pool was really clearing up from shallow end to deep end during the initial exchange. It's a salt pool, and the heat hasn't been on, so fill water is pretty close in...

    Cloudy/Foamy Water After Calcium Treatment

There were two different bags of powder, and I added 2 of each bag, so 4 bags total. I'm guessing each bag was approximately 3-5 pounds, so 12-20 pounds of powder, but I don't know how much of that was actually sulfamic acid. And yes, that's exactly how I did the exchange/drain. I put a bucket...

    Cloudy/Foamy Water After Calcium Treatment

I've never SLAMed before so I don't know what to expect, but I can't keep my FC's above 3-5ppm. Last night I added enough bleach to bring my FC back up to 12. This morning I checked again and my FC was at 3 and my CC's were at 16! Do I just keep going with this, or should I try to exchange the...
