After a bit of challenging solder work, I'm happy to report that my system is back to 100% functionality! Thanks to everyone for the help! It's a bit of a story, but I wound up replacing chips on the protocol adapter, the in-house panel AND the main control panel.

I've got my work cut out for me then! How do you protect the outdoor board from surges? How many 485 isolators would you put in a well guarded system?

cool! Any tips on where the 485 driver is on one of those main control boards? I can see a few candidates under the LCD panel (of course). Are they the same as on the ICP? (yes, I have a couple of com-less boards that I might as well try to resurrect before throwing down even more $$$)

One more question. Should an 8 aux remote (indoor panel) work with a 4 aux system?

I noticed that little guy hiding under there and figured that was likely the culprit. Ordered a new desoldering tool yesterday...

Follow-up question... What would be the equivalent of that 220K hybrid? a 140K UltraTemp HP + MasterTemp 175K or 200K ? Seems like the combo would kick the hybrids Rear in terms of output capacity. My pool is 25K gal with a typical 500g spillover spa.

Update: On a whim, I tried plugging in an old protocol adapter I had, no dice, but a little while after I plugged in the newer one I can now see all the normal control pages and whatnot, but I still can't actually change anything from the computer or the iPhone, only from the control panels...
