Glass dust and silica dust would undoubtedly enter the pool. To my knowledge silica dust is the only one of the two to be a known carcinogen. The glass media that smelled like beer was not Dryden product correct?

I completely agree with you. I’m only stating that bacteria exists in pools and readily collects on the surface of sand.
