    help identifying spa blower size

Actually, even though you can't see the markings with a naked eye, my wife took a great picture with Samsung Galaxy phone and when it is blown up, I can faintly make out the model number and HP. it is a 240V 2hp model. , #56603.

    help identifying spa blower size

Hello, We have a spa blower that is shutting off after a few minutes. I plan on removing it and just trying it off the pipe, but if it has gone bad, I need help to identify what size. It is a Polaris Anzen? (it is a old and brown metal unit with a domed top) but all the numbers have faded...

    CYA standard testing

Last fall, I got some of the 50ppM CYA standard to help me test the CYA. When I used it for a CYA test I saw that the black dot had to really disappear to find the correct reading. Today I rechecked with the standard and the black dot disappears around 80-70, not 50. I did this at first...

    CC creeping higher

I put the FC up to 10.5, the CC was almost zero (just slightly color after adding 5 drops). Ran the pump all night and rechecked first thing this morning, FC still took 21 drops (10.5) and CC was 0.5. I slowed down the drops and stirred more. So I think I am OK. Ill keep brushing things down...

    CC creeping higher

Hi, I had great luck this summer keeping the pool clear and balanced. But since it has turned cooler here in Dallas, TX, the CC has rarely been at zero. It has been 0.5ppm or less (just barely pinkish color) We went out of town for the weekend, so I put in some extra chlorine. The CYA is...

    freeze protector not kicking in

Thanks all, pool was running this morning when the temperature was about 32. I had it set for around 38, so seems it is off a bit. Ill keep dialing it down so it only kicks on when the temperature is below 30. I may try the salt/ice idea.

    freeze protector not kicking in

HI, I recently had to replace the timer (intermatic T104) in the pump control box, which is an Abco FP-100. Everything has been working fine for over a month, but I noticed the pump did not kick on when the temperatures dropped below freezing. I checked all the connections and wiring in case I...

    Is my CYA too low?

We live in Dallas TX, we had record rainfall last month, one two day period was over 12", raining almost faster than the overflow could drain. Earlier in the spring I drained the pool to reduce the CYA from 80+ to 40, but now it is around 30. There is a lot of shade around the pool, but it...

    Rain Rain go Away

Pool calculator said to add about 17 lbs of calcium chloride to get to 275ppm. I added 12 lbs of hth calcium plus, waited 24 hours and re tested. Results said CH is 300 ppm. I re tested two more times and got the same result. Not sure how it got to 300 from 200, pool calculator said 12 lbs...

    Rain Rain go Away

We have had near record rainfall the past two weeks. I had drained the pool about 1/2 to lower the CYA (poor timing on my part). After re-filling the pool, the CH was around 225-250, the TA was around 100. Now I am seeing the CH around 200 and the TA about 110. To decrease the TA, I added...

    Taking over pool

Ok will start SLAM tomorrow. Ill brush the pool a couple of times to make sure nothing is living on the walls. Sounds like I am taking too long with my test and not stirring enough. I just watched the Taylor video, To Test (Free and Combined) Chlorine using FAS-DPD [updated 3/5/10], and I...

    Taking over pool

I am very confused now. Do I need to SLAM? I did one more OCLT last night/this morning, no chlorine had been added for 24 hours. Last night around 9 pm, FC was 6, the CC was 1. I retested this morning at 8 am, FC just over 5 (after 10 drops just barely pink), and the CC was 0. I am confused...

    Taking over pool

I won't have time to do the SLAM process until this weekend. I checked the chlorine levels last night after I got home, around 10 pm. Yesterday was a very overcast day, levels were: FC 8 and CC 0.5, (the same as the morning check). The levels this morning were FC 7.5 (I forgot to check CC)...

    Taking over pool

The pool was very clear yesterday morning, I checked the chlorine again around 2 pm, and FC was 3 and CC was 1. I added the rest of the one gallon 10% chlorine I had. I re-checked again about 7 pm after the pump had ran another couple of hours, FC was 7.5, CC was 0.5. Tested again first...

    Taking over pool

finally got around to draining pool. I made a lot of measurements, seems the pool is really around 28,000 gallons. after filling and letting the pool run for a couple of hours, here are my numbers: FC 0 (I have since added a whole gallon of 10% chlorine) CH: 250-275 TA: 100 pH: 7.8 CYA...
