Has anyone invented a bleach dispenser yet?

I watched a few Youtube videos including one from Pool Man University where Dave from Hasa talks about their 'New Hasa Liquid Chlorine feeder' and the video is now two years old. There were some comments about this model having problems after a year or two so I'm guessing you are referring to...

Has anyone invented a bleach dispenser yet?

Yep, that all sounds about right. Here in the north of Spain (Barcelona) it's a little cooler than the south but even in the height of summer I rarely use more than the 2.75ppm a day that I get from our 5L bottle of weaker bleach. It started off as 'helping her out' after her divorce as she...

Has anyone invented a bleach dispenser yet?

As you say, the Hasa feeder looks like it needs some maintentance or replacing after a year or two so yes, it's cheap but it could easily cost more in the long run. It's a good start though and gives me something to compare others to so thanks for that.

Has anyone invented a bleach dispenser yet?

Over January and February both mine and my friends pool eats up roughly .33ppm of chlorine a day and as 1 bottle of bleach here contains 2.75ppm, 1 bottle a week has been working fine for me. I brush and vacuum my pool once a week but my friends are on a tighter budget so they've asked if I can...

Has anyone invented a bleach dispenser yet?

Thanks for that. As you can tell I haven't done a lot of research as I'm happy with my basic set up. The line from that post that stands out is "a Stenner pump with a 30 gallon tank, tubing, weighted strainer, and injection fitting could be purchased for under $400 including shipping." That...

    Sand, glass, DE

Sorry, have only now just seen this reply. Yep, it could be a bad gasket or a broken lateral but I've checked the gasket and it's fine and I doubt it is one of the laterals. It only happens when I'm vacuuming a particularly thick layer of dirt and only when the pressure is slightly raised in the...

Has anyone invented a bleach dispenser yet?

Ideally I'd want one that I can program to dispense a set amount of bleach at a set time and preferably for the next two weeks. Am I asking for too much? As the saying goes, “I'm asking for a friend”. You see, I'm maintaining a friend's pool and at the moment I visit once every two weeks and...

Pump just died, panic mode engaged.

Ah, right. The article I read stated that VR pumps had magnets and stated it as a matter of fact as if they were all that way. Number 1 looks to be the obvious choice. 2 and 3 just leads to more questions. Can I get an add on motor that has VS included for an Astralpool Victoria Plus 38774...

Pump just died, panic mode engaged.

Fair enough. I keep seeing it though out there in the pool world but it does vary between 2 to 3 turnovers but most on here were saying way back when that 1 turnover / 4 hours was enough. I mentioned that my friendly electrician was trying to fix the pump and when he returned with it yesterday...

Pump just died, panic mode engaged.

That's not strictly true though is it? If I run my single speed pump for 4 hours at 2850 rpm to get a single turn over, I'd need to run a VS pump at 1425rpm for 8 hours to achieve the same, no? Agreed, that's why I gave two savings of 50% and 75% to see what that monitory saving would look...

Pump just died, panic mode engaged.

I must admit, I've been reading the headline and not the details and just like in the VFD you linked, it says "single to 3 phase" in the headline but "Input:220VAC(+/-5%) 1 or 3phase(for single-phase input, just connect the input wire to the R and S terminals) .Output:3phase 220v...

Pump just died, panic mode engaged.

Most of the forum posts I've read about VFD's talk about using the VFD to change from 3 phase to single phase or vice versa. This got me thinking, do I go: a) 3 phase supply > 3 phase into VFD, 3 phase out of VFD > 3 phase single speed pump b) 3 phase supply > 3 phase into VFD, mono phase out...

A google search for Vgreen and "Bomba Piscina €" finds nada.

Pump just died, panic mode engaged.

Three phase supply to larger houses are quite common here, not sure why. All the VS pumps I can find are single phase and all the 3 phase pumps I can find are single speed. I'll admit I haven't spent days looking but this is what I've seen with a few hours searching the web. My electricity bills...

Thank you Bperry, talk about getting straight to the point. That's all I needed to know. You're a legend. EDIT. :) Guess I jumped the gun a little bit there, a quick google for prices for a "3 phase converter" on Amazon brings up "Variable frequency drive". I thought the VFD was only needed...
