Fire Magic advice, should I get a sear burner??

Grill is great. Main burners register at around 975 deg on full after 10 min. The zone dividers work well to keep the heat separated. Rotis is a little noisy. there's a learning curve to Low heat cooking and smoking and take some time to adjust the right balance. Haven't tried the side burner...

    Intro and Construction Questions

The trex board is merely a way to elevate the bottom of the island off the ground so the steel stud does not come into contact with the ground and any water. Some people use trex 4" x 4" feet, other use a strip all the way along the bottom perimeter. I see no reason you could not use a trex...

    which stainless steel rivets?

What length of stainless rivets are recommended for steel stud construction and what type (blind rivets ?, button head?, domed?, countersunk?) and shank size? Grainger has .525", .337". .650" all 1/8" shank, button head. Also, any reason to go to 3/16" or larger shank? THX.

    Barbeque Island Construction

Thanks Nightmare. My pad is not level, it slopes 3 1/2" in a 10' span and then slopes the other way 1" in a 34" span. It's gonna be a "nightmare" to level. So it slopes down and away. Any suggestions? My island plan is 10' straight.

Firstly, I am building on a concrete pad and the pad slopes 3 1/2" in the 10' span and also slopes away from the house about an inch over a 3' span. So as you...
