    Ichlor 30

I have a blinking green cell light and the % lights read "CELL". pH has been brought to 7.0. Cell has been cleaned (again). Just raised salt to test at 3600 ppm. Still CELL. We recently added some higher alkalinity water to the pool, but I wouldn't think that would trip it to not function...

    Working on a SLAM

Did a vacuum last night. Have been backwashing. Last check last night was FC: 12.5 Added to bring it around 20. This morning checked. 12 hours later was at 7.5 so I was glad to see it didn't disappear completely. Seems like I'm dropping 1 ppm an hour instead of the higher rate from...

    Working on a SLAM

First time I've had my water get cloudy. I think I had my chlorinator set to low and something starting growing. Anyway, wife noticed water was cloudy when she opened the pool. I bought 3-4 gallons of bleach threw them in and left it for several hours and FC was zero. Tried it again with 5...

Chlorinator Issue - No Communication - Pentair

I went to Home Depot to get some new button crimps. I started with re-crimping the white wire with a new connection since that's supposed to be the communication wire. Turns out, that worked. I'm back generating again. So glad I'm not looking at a replacement yet!

Chlorinator Issue - No Communication - Pentair

I have an Ichlor 30 which was working fine. Eventually I got an error indicating the flow meter was no longer working. I did a test by holding the more button to check details. About 1907 hours of use. Degrees fahrenheit didn't read. I bought a replacement flow meter and installed today wiring...

Water Feels "Hard" - Calcium Hardness?

I'll try it but one year I had almost over loaded the CYA from trying to test at too cool of temperatures. I know last year we were at 80-90 for CYA and pool closer lowered the level for closing and we refilled with new water. I would guess we should be in the 60-70 range but will verify with...

Water Feels "Hard" - Calcium Hardness?

Current levels: PH 7.6 FC 7.0 TA 120 CYA - under 30 but water is still cold outside. Not sure I can accurately test yet Salt - 2800 ppm (need to add 3 bags)

Water Feels "Hard" - Calcium Hardness?

The closer used RV antifreeze for the lines. When opening I flush that out so it doesn't go in the pool. It's not a "hardness" thing right now as is it all season. When we first opened 2-3 years ago, our skin would feel dry when coming out of the pool like we needed a hand moisturizer. That...

Water Feels "Hard" - Calcium Hardness?

I'm just getting things started. We had to re-add water after winterization. I'll take a sample later and post results.

Water Feels "Hard" - Calcium Hardness?

I've been balancing water chemistry via the TFP method for a couple years. We run SWG, and despite having good levels of salt in the water, our water still feels "Hard". I just did a CH test, and we are about 250. Our refill water from the city is at least this high. I think our pool water...

    Pentair IC40 Issues - ICHLOR 30

The new Ichlor came today. Easy to install which was nice. Started working fine on the typical RPM as usual. So something was wrong with the IC40. I'm thinking I should contact the pool builder or pentair to see if I can send to one of them so they can test and determine the issue.

Are SWG's really worth the hype? your experience beforevsafter, recommend type

I just wish my Pentair unit would have lasted longer than 1.5 years. Trying to get the PB to handle warranty issues from Pentair has been problematic. Paying $500-$800 a year for a new SWG is more expensive than buying bleach.

    Pentair IC40 Issues - ICHLOR 30

Yeh, flow is setup correctly. I'll call up Pentair and give them the details again and see what I can do. PB will say it's not covered because it's installed too close to the heater I'm afraid.
