The bottom line is that you want to be happy with your pool and not agonize over I should've/would've/could've. If you want them matching then go with that. Just make sure that they will fit. I'm debating on upgrading my bulb to a color or white led. I'm going to wait until our remodel is done...

Replaster recommendation - San Francisco Bay Area

Sometime in the 90s. Once the fiberglass strands get into the water then you'll start getting complaints of being itchy. I did like low chemical maintenance, but it's old and outdated/boring. As for color options, I'm not sure. Just found out that I'm going to have to replace the skimmer box...

Remodel in progress, how much to replace skimmer???

Hi All, I'm having my pool remodeled. Tile, coping, and fiberglass overlay are all removed. The PB and I did a walk through and he's highly recommending replacing the skimmer. He says there are not structural cracks around the skimmer, but over the years water had leaked around the skimmer box...

Replaster recommendation - San Francisco Bay Area

We are having our fiberglass overlay removed as I type this. The overlay gelcoat completely failed last swim season with the kids complaining of being itchy. I wasn't impressed with the 2 local fiberglass companies in the Easty Bay. To be honest, it looks boring, but I did like having some...

Pebble Tec or Pebbel Sheen vs. Adams Pebble Plus

Maxdad777, I live in your area just a little north of the TriValley and I got multiple bids from local PB to remodel our pool. Adams bid included their Pebble Plus. The sales rep told me that it has a 10 year warranty. I have to admit that I was leary about their line simply because it isn't...

    Pool remodel demo....HELP!!

Demo started yesterday of removing the fiberglass overlay from the IG Gunite. I got back and there's a 1'x1'x1' hole approximately 4-6' up from the main drain. What is this? This is my first pool remodel and the PB hasn't told me what the steps will be for demo. Is this a "vent" for hydrostatic...

    coping choices

I inthe process of getting bids to redo our pool. For the coping, we are going to a tumbled rock from a 12" safety brick coping. It used to be a 13.5" before the last remodel and now have a ridiculous mastic gap. We're going with the tumbled so it can butt up to the Cool Deck walkway around the...

What is 'standard' prep for replastering?

We're in the process of getting bids back to redo our pool also. We currently have an IG gunite with fiberglass overlay. We are going to either replaster or do Pebble tec or Pebble Sheen. The fiberglass overlay was done several years ago by the former owner. I was fortunate to speak with him...

    Need to regrout tile---advice/suggestions???

No that is not normal. Masonry products (tile) need a firm inert substrate and styrofoam isn't. Are you saying there is a styrofoam sheet behind the tile? Epoxy grout is not for the faint hearted. Unless you have used it before, I would seldom consider that a DIY task. I have no idea what...
