What is the order I should balance the pool? PH, TA, CYA?

No. They were already stained when I started trying to balance to water. I figure the low PH and the Pool Rx Copper are the culprit.

I raised it with Sodium Carbonate. So I don't need to worry about CH at all?

Any suggestions on the stains? Magic eraser doesn't affect them.

It also doesn't appear from reading about the SLAM that my pool is in need of that. Pool is clear now and FC is at 8.

I have not studied the SLAM process yet. The pool calculator I loaded was recommended on here somewhere, but doesn't appear to the the PoolMath you sited.

Sounds like the bonding has come loose. You can check potential with a multimeter. There are some good videos out there for it by Mike Holt.

    Trying to Cope

I've read the mastic will last about 3 years before cracking and needing replaced. What about using a waterproof self leveling caulk for concrete joints over the backer rod?

Thanks. This isn't my first pool, but I will brush up on water chemistry for sure.

    Trying to Cope

I am ready to cope my pool and pour the concrete deck. I would like to do rock, but have questions about the joint between the rock coping and the slab concrete deck. From what I have read, there needs to be an expansion joint of around 3/4". What is that made of and please post pics if you...

Hello all! I am in the process of building my own inground pool. (16x32 all shallow) It has been a pretty good experience so far. I have been surprised at the lack of information on some items. That's why I have joined here. Hope to get some good info and pics.
