Typically the pool bottom is vermiculite or a vermiculite and sand mixture. I would suggest a mixture of sand and vermiculite as it is more cost effective and easier to shape.

I am very sorry to hear about your problem. Me myself I would not be satisfied with the pool being out 2". I would have them demo all the concrete decking, pull it and then reset the pool. I would also ask that the manufactures rep inspect the shell prior to resetting it as I would be concerned...

Unfortunately it is a vinyl liner in ground pool so I believe draining it will not be an option. She put a for sale by owner sign up last week however unless she mows the lawn and cleans the pool up no one in their right mind will ever look at it.

I think you have been patient enough and now it is time for the gloves to come off. If the liner manufacture does not want any part of it I would report the pool store and or their subcontractor the installer to the BBB. If that does no give them the incentive to make things right the next step...

Don not pay him the balance of the money. Insist that he have a representative from the manufacturer of the liner come to evaluate the problems. I am sure after the manufactures representative see's the problem first hand, he will advise the installing contractor and store owner to remeasure and...
