Thanks, Craig, I've been hearing the same thing about these lights. I'll try one more time with the silicone gasket & maybe silicone the heck out of where the cord enters & see what happens. Corey

    Sam Spectrum Amerlite leaking...

Hey, all... I have an older Sam Spectrum amerlite pool light that had a small leak. I cleaned it out, got everything working again, replaced the lens gasket with an original Pentair gasket (#79101600Z) as I was told the black rubber gaskets are not as good. About 2 weeks later, I...

    Newly installed Intellibrite controller problems...

Hello, everyone. I have an older pentair intellibrite LED pool light, 120V, w/ integrated 12v transformer. Up until tonight, I was using the on/off switch to change colors & patterns, but I've just installed a "new" controller, (#600054) purchased off an auction site & the light now won't...

    Tile grout problems...

Wow, ok, thanks so much Dave. Having only been a pool owner for a few years, I had never seen this before. Can you suggest a method to remove the build-up as it sits? & how should I apply the muriatic acid for prevention?

    Tile grout problems...

Thanks, Dave, for the response. Water is seeping from BEHIND the tiles? What would cause this to happen in the first place? Poor workmanship? I had this wall raised approx. 3" & retiled when I had the pool replastered just about 2 years ago. Should something like this be covered under the...

    Tile grout problems...

Hey, all, & happy 4th! I have here a tile grout issue I can't explain, so I'm hoping someone else can. As you can see in the pics, the grout is oozing somthing, or something in the water is leaving this caking of something on the grout. It feels like cement. I've destroyed 2 scrubbers trying...

Best tile grout cleaner for bird poop...

Thanks, 257!! Like the Crossman idea!! :goodjob: I am using a stiff brush, & I guess it's just a matter of scrubbing til it's gone... It's really caked on there. Shoulda hopped on it a long time ago. I was just hoping that there was something I could use to soften up the stuff so it would come...

Best tile grout cleaner for bird poop...

Hello, all, I'd like to know what the best/reasonably priced chemical to use for tile grout cleaning. Apparently, the local birds are using the top of my tiled spa wall for a bathroom ( i know... real gross..) & the grout seems to be getting it the worst. Strange, as this never happened before...

New variable pump-- turnover time hard to believe..

Ah, ok. Thank you. I guess I'll never really know for sure unless I ever need to dig them up. Was it normal to use 1.5" plumbing in older pools?

New variable pump-- turnover time hard to believe..

Yes, I'm assuming that there's a 2" to 1.5" adapter on the 2 inlet & the 2 outlet lines, probably near the pump when the previous pump was installed before I moved in. I'm assuming because that's the diameter of the skimmer suction port. Corey

New variable pump-- turnover time hard to believe..

Not at high speed as far as I can tell, Mark. However, at 1000 rpm, an air bubble appears in the strainer after a few hours. But when the pump starts at the next scheduled time, it primes itself at high speed and in just a few seconds the bubble disappears. I guess it's supposed to do that...

New variable pump-- turnover time hard to believe..

Filter gauge is probably 5-6 feet above water level. There's one suction line, divided by a jandy valve that's usually positioned to get water from the skimmer, which is about 45 feet away from the pump. Here's a pic:
