Total Head for Raypak 6350ti Heat Pump

Thank you guys... I just thought it didn't make sense that my heater had that much resistance or friction loss... I want to try to get a rough estimate of just how much power I would save by switching to VS. I'm seeing what i think it's a great sale on a Hayward MaxFlo variable speed pump...

Total Head for Raypak 6350ti Heat Pump

Hoping someone can help me out with this. I know most don't think it's important, but I'm trying to get a decent estimate on the total head for my pool plumbing. I'm looking into whether, or not, it is worth it for me to invest in a variable speed pump for savings on electricity. I've done a...

    No winter cover??

Yeah there's no way I would risk leaving my light in... the ice definitely gets below that level. That's why I'd be worried about my light niche... I would be in a mess if that cracked

    No winter cover??

Purchased aqua blocks and filled them up with water (you could also place some antifreeze in them or even a little bit of bleach to help with freezing). Have had for 3 years and they are still in good shape. The aqua blocks have to be tight and at the end of the tarp away from the pool. This...

    No winter cover??

I probably should know... but what's a "gizmo"? Something for the skimmer, i assume? What about the light niche?

    No winter cover??

I've closed my own in ground pool every year since new (4 years). I find the winter cover (the large, solid tarp type) is a pain. So hard to keep wind from getting under it. I've used the long vinyl water bags to secure all edges but they get leaks every year and I'm tired of repairing/...

Extremely Cloudy Water Not Clearing Up

It's a clear solar blanket. Only 3 years old this season. I do notice pollen on the top of the cover sometimes and i'm sure that some of it washes into the water...but that's always been the case, nothing's changed there. If it's pollen, shouldn't my filter have taken care of it by now? I...

Extremely Cloudy Water Not Clearing Up

Their was no change in FC overnight after the slam...and 0 CC. I'm gonna repeat tonight as their still seems to be very little to no change. I'm baffled...

Extremely Cloudy Water Not Clearing Up

Hi guys. Thanks to everything I've learned on here, I am usually able to keep my pool crystal clear and running smoothly. However, this year, early in the season, I'm having a huge issue (to me) at the moment. I had the water balanced and crystal clear early on this year but then was not able...

    drain question for closing

Thanks for the reply. The water came in under the liner in the shallow end (there was still water in the pool...I just had it drained below the returns...maybe a bit lower than necessary). Unfortunately we did not put in an underground drain or pump because we didn't think this was an issue...

    drain question for closing

Hi guys...I know the winter closing topics have been discussed at great lengths, so I apologize for bringing this up...but I keep getting different advice depending on what I read and who I ask. I live in New Brunswick, Canada where we have a very long and very cold winter...i.e. a very thick...

    Help with test results...

I don't seem to be having any pH issues... however, I do have a SWG... Does this mean I need to be more worried about my TA?

    Help with test results...

Thanks...but I read that article...and it actually states that adding MA is exactly what will lower my TA. However, it did inform me not to really worry about it, unless it was causing one of these 2 problems...here is a quote from that article... "There are two reasons to lower your total...

    Help with test results...

I still haven't figured out why my FC level spiked so high...and maybe I never will.... very strange, since I followed the pool math exactly. Anyway, on another note regarding storing the test kit chemicals... I came across this post while searching for info and it has a link to a Taylor...
