CircuPool SJ-40 Issues - Can't "see" it working anymore?

Yeah its unfortunate. My wife asked me earlier why we have to add the chlorine still. I really dont have time to mess with chasing down a manufacturer and proving my case. Ive been dealing with the TFP method for a few years and feel that I have a good feel for balancing my water. I started two...

CircuPool SJ-40 Issues - Can't "see" it working anymore?

Nope. They didnt do anything and never responded to this thread either. For now, I'm using Pool shock online from atwoods for liquid chlorine. I wouldnt suggest purchasing one of CircuPOol's units as their after sale service was pretty bad. They just kept blaming my chemistry and saying "it's...

CircuPool SJ-40 Issues - Can't "see" it working anymore?

Hi All - I've fiddled with this thing and fiddled with it. I started out this summer low on CYA so now I've got that up to where it's supposed to be and I'm still not generating chlorine with the CircuPool. I've emailed their support several times and they keep telling me to look at the lights...

CircuPool SJ-40 Issues - Can't "see" it working anymore?

OK I put in enough bleach to bring it up to about 8. That should hold it overnight.

CircuPool SJ-40 Issues - Can't "see" it working anymore?

Yes - I've been adding Atwood pool shock to keep Chlorine in the pool. I'm using the Taylor K-1766 for salt testing.

CircuPool SJ-40 Issues - Can't "see" it working anymore?

I've set it to 100% and Full Blast and turn it off and on and havent seen it put off chlorine at all this year. Last year, I could always see that it was working after I put power to all the equipment. I'll do a full water test and post. My salt is 4000 ppm, water temp is 84F. I run the pump...

CircuPool SJ-40 Issues - Can't "see" it working anymore?

I purchased a circupool sj-40 last year. All last year, I could easily see that the unit was working by looking at the salt cell. It would bubble or put off a slight haze and I knew it was working. This year, nothing. I cant seem to keep FC in my pool and the water passing through the powered...

What measuring device do you all use?

While the short duration that bleach/chlorine is in contact with a measuring cup, it is never a good idea to use a metal vessel (stainless included) to move any type of corrosive agent (such as acid OR chlorine).

What measuring device do you all use?

I bought some quart measuring cups from Sherwin Williams for mixing paint chemicals. They are non reactive and have good measuring lines on the side. Just be careful and deliberate when pouring. Use eye protection.

Should I fix CYA (refill) before installing SWG and new pump?

    1. Water replacement is the only way to lower CYA. 2. Yes there are risks. You should consult with a local engineer or pro. Like you, I dont think the risks are that high. I wouldnt do it when the ground is water saturated as I think bulge or float is the biggest risk. 3. I doubt it. Ive never...

    Rebar/shotcrete question:

Yes, it makes sense. You're better off to go with more (thicker) 3000 psi shotcrete than the same amount (thickness) of 4000 psi. In all actuality, at 90 days your 3000 psi concrete will be more like 4500 psi, and possibly way more with more steel. In reality, the 3000 psi concrete with the...

Remodel Advice - Cmasty Remodel Thread

I am in the beginning phases of planning a remodel. THis will probably go one of two ways. Method 1: Redo Tile, cleanup cool-deck and live with the plaster and cool deck. Method 2: Redo tile, tear out cool deck and coping and replace with travertine. Here are a couple pics of the pool. It...

How to start a new pool

Have you put bleach/chlorine in since it was filled? If it were me, I'd fix the Chlorine and CYA first. Worry about the pH when you can get a good test kit (soon) so you can know for sure where you're starting. Moving PH from 5 to 7.5 takes about 40 POUNDS of washing soda for a 10k gallon...

First House With A Pool - I'm Here For Advice :-)

Ive had multiple pool service offers from 30-40 per week. That's high in my book. I think they see a nice house and think they can charge me lots. I have been using poollogger.com and am really liking it. The guy who created it has a thread on this site and has done a nice job.
