    Well right now I'm letting the FC drop a bit so I can get in the pool and rub the spots with a chlorine tab. After that I'm going to add 3lbs of trichlor shock to bring up the CYA to 30-35.     Post split from Black algae question Zea3 I have kept my FC > 20 and the pump running 24/7 for 3 weeks now. Most of the Black Algae is now light gray, but none of the spots have vanished completely. Should I try a copper based algaecide?
