I agree. I'll be getting my kit shortly. And correct on the DE filter. It was a bonus the pool company brought to help clear the water. They changed the DE once already a few days ago. I called today to thank them and advised they are welcome to retrieve the DE filter at their liesure. the...

yeehah! All i can say is FOLLOW SLAM procedures TO THE WORD!!! Things were taking longer than expected since we were limited to adding what ever chlorine we were given. We decided to go to walmart and buy a 5 pack of extra strength powdered shock for $27 i think, and a few jugs of 8.75% dollar...

    Liquid Shock from Ollie's

Regarding the price, my local supplier charges $15-16 for a blue 5 gallon jug of the 12.75% chlorine shock. So the price you reference really isn't a sale price. At least not in the northeast. It's about a fair price. Bout it. Just fyi.

Yes they have. Thank you. UPDATE. A more official, well seasoned man came from the pool company today. His goal was to write up a quote to give to the owners. He also reviewed the install. It's fine. the man said if the owners approve the job, the work can start next week. Yay. Stay tuned.

Options are full port #1, full port #2, 1/2 (which is a split between 1 and 2), and off. Right now its on full port #2, which is the side the line is run to. It's fine.

Got what you mean now. Looking at the valve you refer to, the valve has the option to have 2 lines run to it. Two intakes. One is just plugged. The kid who rigged it did so on the far side of the valve for ease of install as far as i can tell. The valve is set for #2, which is wide open. Other...

It's hard to see due to no light in the pool house but if you look close, there are 2 black lines and a dirty white line coming up out of the ground. The two black lines are the returns, and the dirty white line laying on the ground is the skimmer line. currectly the suction side of the pump...

Pump is running and working. But because the return line that is being used as a skimmer line is damaged, a large amount of air is being drawn in with water, never leaving the pump housing without air. I'd say the pump is only moving 40% of the water it could be if the skimmer line were good...
