    Replacement grid set recommendations

Hi all, I need to replace the grids on my DE pentair fns plus 60 filter. I need to replace just the grids, the assembly is otherwise in good condition. But I’m finding the product search a bit daunting, as I’m finding equivalencies hard to find (descriptions don’t usually call out specific...

    Guidance on SLAMMING

I can’t speak to the salt cell size unfortunately. As this is my relatives pool, and my first with saltwater (my own was fresh water before moving in with family after relocating), my knowledge is based on freshwater pool and am still on the learning curve differentiating the care. Wasn’t aware...

    Guidance on SLAMMING

Hi maddie thank you for your reply. I’ve done this before on my own freshwater pool with success, but this is the first time I’m doing it for a saltwater pool. I use the Taylor titration kit everyone here loves, and balanced all chemicals before I started slamming. hence the CYA being at the...

    Guidance on SLAMMING

Hi everyone! I’m currently SLAMing a relatives SWG 15k gallon in ground pool (I’ve turned off the swg to better control pH for this) and have a few questions: ph:7.3 CYA: 80ppm Calcium: 360ppm I’m not familiar with this plaster they have. It feels like very fine grained pebble finish. Not...

How would you interpret this? Algae?

Actually, the sand was replaced a month ago (filter cracked over winter). They replaced it with sand from ground glass bottles. I will let it drop and see what happens from there. Thank you!

How would you interpret this? Algae?

Thanks for your guidance, really appreciate it. CC is around 0.5 (never seen it higher than that before). I occasionally pass OCLT, but it’s not every night, maybe half the time (given the losses during the day I’ve kept watching it, even when it’s been zero). Usually lose 1-1.5 ppm, but...

How would you interpret this? Algae?

Yes, Though after I was experiencing big drops in chlorine with parts per million of 20 or less, I went with my pool LMaintenance companies recommendation of spiking it all the way up to 30 ppm, but otherwise continue to follow the full slam process

How would you interpret this? Algae?

Thank you guys. That sorta makes sense to me. So what should my next step be? Let it drop down low (i dunno, <10ppm) and see what the demand is at that point? I should mention: for several days, I would only get it up to about 20ppm if I was lucky, and even then got drops down to 12, then down...

How would you interpret this? Algae?

Hello everyone!! Third year with our freshwater chlorinated pool! First year was a nightmare with algae, but last year was really good. I think this third year we may be having more algae issues but I wanted to get your opinion on this. What I’m seeing Is not quite making sense to me. Two...

How badly did I mess up? adding calcium chloride

Thanks all! Glad to know it’s alright. No no worries on the pump. It’s running 24/7 right now owing to adding CYA, which I actually need to add a bit more, thanks for the reminder :)

How badly did I mess up? adding calcium chloride

Pool was recently replastered with prism matrix pebble finish. We’re 2.5 weeks out. Im balancing my chemicals and needed about 25 lbs of calcium chloride to get my Ca hardness to 250 ppm (40k gallon freshwater pool). Welp, I didn’t exactly read all instructions and added all 25 lbs. I...

Water chemistry for newly plastered pool

Thank you both! This was exactly what I needed since I’ve been sort of left to my own devices.

Pool Frogs - how many have you had?

Every dang night. We live in the woods, and the pool is set back a ways from the house. The pool is RULED by frogs at night. We won’t go down at night because of inadequate lighting and the volume of frogs in there. We’re liable to step on one on the decking!

Water chemistry for newly plastered pool

Hello everyone, we we just remodeled our pool, which included installation of Wet Edge Prism Matrix Indigo Blue pebble plaster. The pool was filled 9 days ago, and we’re just getting back from a week long vacation and getting on top of 2x brushings and such. Where I lack knowledge base and...

Finish Recommendation sought: glass vs pebble, wet edge vs sunstone pearl

Thanks! Wasn’t expecting to hear the tactile experience to be like that. The company offering wet edge just completed a pool with prism matrix so if we go with them we’ll likely get to see this finish first hand.
